Formerly trained in Ireland by Gordon Elliot, the 7 year old Graineyhill is a winner of four races. One chase and three over hurdles. He postmarked an Irish high of 134.
He was sold on to UK connections when his form plateaued and after three runs for his new stable, he has already dropped to a mark of 115.
Graineyhill went in my notebook when he first ran in the UK as the usual blinkers worn were removed. In my tracker I noted ‘be interesting when down in the weights with the blinkers back on’.
Well today looks the day as Graineyhill has the blinkers back on and after three runs over chases he has been switched back to hurdles. It’s interesting that Gordon Elliot used this exact same tactic which resulted in Graineyhill winning off an Irish mark of 117.
With the fast ground in his favour and Nick Schofield a good jockey booking Graineyhill looks a cracking each way play at 33/1 with BET365

Alcock and Brown – 4.20 Southwell – 2m 4F Handicap Hurdle – 16/1 -1.5 points each way.
Alcock and Brown has been on my radar ever since he changed stables to Milton Harris and ran quickly four times on unsuitable heavy ground. This resulted in his mark dropping from 122 to 93.
He is so well handicapped that it’s just been a question of time before he wins.
He has been kept fit over the winter on the all weather and now the ground is drying out it’s a very good sign Alcock and Brown is returning to jumps off a lowly mark of just 82.
The claimer jockey, Harry Kimber, takes off a very handy 5lb and with cheekpieces retained Alcock and Brown looks to have very strong claims.
I therefore recommend 1.5 points each way with Bet365.
