Ellabella – 7.15 Dundalk – 7F Handicap – 33/1 Boylesports – 4 places – 1 Point Each Way.
Ellabella is only a three year old and is very much unexposed compared to many in the field.
She has run 11 times, with more runs on turf than all-weather, but it’s clear she acts well on Dundalk’s polytrack as her career best run was 2nd of 14 in a handicap only losing by a head off a mark of 52.
Ellabella’s only other run at Dundalk was a good 4th of 14 off a mark of 56, where she met trouble in rear and had to track wide round the bend before staying on, only going down by less than two lengths.
After a summer break Ellabella has returned with 3 turf runs. She showed up well in a 7F big field handicap finishing 4th, but on her latest start weakened when tried over a mile. That’s the second time she had flopped over 1 mile, so it’s a real positive connections are dropping her back to 7F.
This drop to a more suitable trip coincides with a return to Dundalk and from a mark of just 47 and with a good draw in stall 3 I feel she has much going for her.
I’m surprised we can back Ellabella at 33/1 with Boylesports (generally), who offer 4 places and best odds guaranteed and I’m recommending 1 point each way.
She still looks value at 14/1.
