Hanbury Racing – 19 October 2021

Hi,

Please see my two tips for Tuesday:

Finoah – 4.15 Yarmouth – 1m 2F Handicap – 50/1 Paddy Power – 4 Places – 1 Point Each Way.

The 5 year old Finoah was originally trainer by Tom Dascombe and won four races all on soft or heavy going. These were off marks ranging from 82 to 89 and over trips up to 1m 2F.

Finoah was sold om in February after he won a seller by 5 lengths and is now in the care of the very shrewd and capable Martyn Smith.

Martin ran him twice in the spring and then put him away over the summer and I’m sure the plan was always to have an autumn campaign when the ground eased.

Finoah usually wears headgear but on his return to action on 6th October they were removed, and it very much looked like a nice reappearance.

Finoah will come on a bundle for that run and with the hood reapplied and cut in the ground he can run well here off a reduced mark of 65. There is rain forecast early evening and it would be great if it arrived early as every drop of rain improves Finoah’s chance.

Eoin Walsh has been a winning jockey for Martyn Smith in the past and this bodes well for a big run.

We can back Finoah at 50/1 with Paddy Power and others who offer 4 places and I therefore recommend 1 point each way.

He still looks value at 16/1.

Blackthirtyone – 5.23 Yarmouth – 6F Handicap – 33/1 Bet365 – 4 Places – 1 Point Each Way.

Adam West’s 3 year old Blackthirtyone has only raced 4 times so is very unexposed and still learning his job.

He ran over 7F and 6F in his maidens and ran freely showing speed and greenness.

It looks like his opening handicap mark of 60 was a fair one as on his handicap debut over 7F he was smartly away and led the field, kicking for home and only getting swallowed up in the final furlong where he was then eased.

He did hold his head a little high and I like that connections now add cheekpieces which should help him relax, focus and improve his performance.

The drop back to 6F today is a good move and Robert Havlin is an excellent jockey booking for the stable. Havlin doesn’t have many rides for Adam west and has won for them from only 5 rides last year.

On breeding the cut in the ground will hold no fears and with Blackthirtyones dad, Gregorian finishing 3rd in a July Cup and being out of a Pivotal mare the trip and conditions will suit nicely.

We can back Blackthirtyone at 33/1 with Bet365 for 4 places and I recommend 1 point each way.

He is still value at 16/1.
