Please see my two tips for Wednesday:
Mabela – 1.20 Taunton – 3 Mile Handicap Hurdle – 25/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way
Mabela is only 7 years old so is still very much in in her prime. She has won three races over hurdles off handicap marks of 100 & 107 around Huntingdon and today’s Taunton track.
What is quite apparent from her form is preference for going right handed, so the fact she has run this season in her first two starts going the wrong way round means we are very likely to see natural improvement for her returning to right handed Taunton.
She showed improved form last time out which looks like fitness starting to build so I’m very hopeful she will be ready to run her race today.
Considering Mabela has won off as high as 107 in 2019, she is looking really well handicapped off today’s mark of 83!
Mabela has yet to win over 3 miles but has run well enough over the trip to suggest she has enough stamina to see it out.
The good to firm ground is very much in her favour and we have to get involved at generous odds of 25/1 with Bet365.
I therefore recommend 1 point each way.
She is still value at 14/1.
Wrapitup – 5.30 Dundalk – 7F Handicap – 80/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way
The 3 year old Wrapitup is one of the least exposed runners in this all age handicap. The gelding showed her best form in a 7F maiden on her second start postmarking 56.
He was dropped back to 6F for his last maiden and was unsurprisingly outpaced.
Wrapitup was allocated an opening mark of 60 and in April 2021 was stepped back up to 7F, but again was a no show.
The gelding was given 5 months off and returned to action just 12 days ago and gave an eye catching display. He was very slowly away losing around 10 lengths but managed to stay on sufficiently to only lose by 8 lengths, postmarking 42.
Wrapitup should come on for that run and connections have added blinkers today that should sharpen up his start and really wake him up.
The trainers 7lb claimer daughter is on board, and she was on for the horses best two runs, so I’m hopeful we could see a big run off a mark of just 52.
At 80/1 he is worth an each way bet and I recommend 1 point each way.
His is still value at 20/1.
