Hanbury Racing – 23 November 2021

Hi,

Please see my two tips below for Tuesday’s racing:

Londonofficecallin –3.35 Punchestown – Handicap Hurdle – 40/1  Sky & Betfair Sportsbook– 6 places BOG – 1.5 Points Each Way.

The 4 year old Londonofficecallin began life on the flat for just 4 runs before going juvenile hurdling as a 3 year old.

He ran with promise on his first two hurdles starts postmarking 88 twice over 2 miles. Unfortunately when he ventured into handicap hurdles (in 2021) off an opening mark of 95 his form went backwards.

After a mid-summer break he returned to action in September where he was fitted with a first time tongue tie and put up an improved performance (off a reduced mark of 82). He was out paced two out but stayed on to grab a 10 length 7th of 17. The fact he stayed on demonstrated to me his breathing had caused his previous poor performances and could easily rate higher.

On his latest start, in a hugely competitive 20 runner Punchestown handicap, the tongue tie was retained and there was some market support (from 33/1 into 25/1). He jumped off in third and travelled well just behind the leaders until 3 out where he hit a small flat spot. He started to stay on but was hampered and blocked by two horses and lost all chance.

The jockey quickly eased him and coasted home up the finishing straight and still only lost by 20 lengths. He would almost certainly have been involved in the finish and interestingly the Racing Post commentary does not even refer to the interference!

This is really good news as he returns to Punchestown over the same distance, off a 2lb lower mark of 80 and connections have added cheekpieces which will help prevent him hitting that flat spot.

If this interference had been highlighted Londonofficecallin would be a single figure price today, but instead we can back him at a monster 40/1 generally.

We have to get involved here and I’m recommending 1.5 points each way with Sky and Betfair Sportsbook who also offer 6 places. Most other Bookmakers are also offering 40/1.

He is still value at 14/1.

Baraboy – 2.15 Sedgefield – 2m Handicap Hurdle – 10/1 Sky, Paddy Power, Betfair Sportsbook – 4 Places – 1 Point Each Way.

We won with Baraboy last time up at 40/1 and I’m really surprised we can back him for his double attempt at juicy odds of 10/1.

He is only up 2lb in the handicap for his last win (over Lord Caprio) and his conditional jockey can claim 5lb in this this hands and heels race so is effectively 3lb better off. The market has Lord Caprio as a 3/1 shot and Baraboy is technically better off at the weights so his 10/1 just doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

Baraboy has won 6 out of his 10 races with apprentice/conditional jockeys on board so I am happy that he is a nice straight forward ride, plus he has won over todays Sedgefield course and distance.

We can get 10/1 with Paddy Power, Sky and Betfair Sportsbook who offer 4 places in this 11 runner race, so he looks a rock solid each way play, and I recommend 1 point each way.

His is still value at 5/1, but at that price I would recommend just a straight win. Anything less than 8/1 would be a straight win bet.
