Little Jo – 4.06 Beverley – 1m Handicap – 20/1 Bet365- 1 point each way.
Little Jo was progressive for his previous trainer Brian Ellison, rattling up six wins over a mile, winning off a handicap high of 81.
She changed stable last year, and the first thing Karen Tutty did was to remove the cheekpieces that had coincided with Little Jo’s previous improvement from 53 to 83.
She went in my notebook to back when the cheekpieces went back on, if running over a mile. Well, today is the day.
Little Jo has raced 5 times since joining the Tutty’s and these runs have helped drop her mark from 83 to 75 which makes her well enough handicapped to win a race.
I like that she has been given a recent seasonal pipe opener as she historically comes on a bundle for a run and that has helped inflate her price to a juicy 20/1 with Bet365.
I am recommending 1 point each way.
Hashtagmeto – 4.51 Windsor – 1m 2F Handicap – 20/1 Boyles – 1 point each way 4 places.
The 4 year old Hashtagmeto had a fairly busy 2 year old career with 9 runs, these were primarily over 6F and 7F where she fared pretty well, winning a maiden and showing gameness on more than one occasion.
Unfortunately, she missed her 3 year old campaign and only returned in March this year. She ran well on both starts, over a mile, and there was some market support both runs, so she must have been working well at home.
Saffie Osbourne, the Trainer’s daughter, is an excellent rider and can still claim 7lb, so Hashtagmeto gets in here on a net 62 which gives her every chance.
Today Hashtagmeto steps up to 1m 2F for the first time and on breeding this should improve her, so I’m prepared to take a chance at 20/1 with Boyles, who offer 4 places and Best odds Guaranteed.
I therefore recommend 1 point each way.
