Ambrose Value Tips had a nice 25/1 place pick up when Rich Belief finished a strong finishing second, but that only tells half the story as he was backed from 25/1 into 3/1 favourite!
After travelling well all the way round Rich Belief was caught on the inside at a critical point on the home turn allowing Cratlow first run on the outside. The 7 year old 3 mile winning point to pointer is still very lightly raced under rules having just 3 maiden starts and three in handicaps.
He seems to prefer faster going as he won his 3 mile point to point on good to firm (plus two other solid runs on the surface). That’s interesting as under rules he ran on soft ground, over shorter trips to obtain his handicap mark.
Uknowwhatimean ran a really promising race last time out where he was stepped up to 2m 6F for the first time under rules (after running over shorter and was encountering good ground for the first time). Despite tracking three wide round the tight Stratford course he was still in with every chance 3 out but lost all chance when stumbling badly on landing.
Today connections move him up to 3m 2F which I think is his perfect trip and gets good to firm ground for the first time under rules. He returns to the track under an ideal 14 day absence, and I think there is unfinished business.
He is running off just 82, which is a great mark, and with the good 5lb claimer Tabitha Worsley taking the ride I think he has a fantastic chance.
I really like his chances today and amazingly he can be backed at 66/1 with Paddy Power & Betfair Sportsbook. I’m therefore recommending 1.5 points each way.
