Hi,
Please see my two tips for Monday:
Dark Crocodile – 12.35 Kempton – 1 Mile Handicap – 16/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way.
The 6 year old Dark Crocodile started life in 1 Mile all-weather maidens and ran a series of sound races postmarking in the 70’s on each occasion.
He didn’t progress when he was campaigned over further trips up to 1m 4f and was sold on.
Dark Crocodile missed almost two years of racing and returned under Geoffrey Deacon with a promising run over an inadequate 7F at today’s Kempton track where he pulled really hard in rear and despite meeting trouble in running up the home straight stayed on eye catchingly to only lose by 3 lengths. That was off a mark of 55 where he also postmarked 55.
Dark Crocodile didn’t build on that run for his next three starts and was then given a 4 month break.
He returned recently over 7F and again was settled in rear and made nice headway into midfield without threatening the leaders.
With that nice run under his belt connections step him up to a much more suitable 1 mile and running off just 47 he looks to have a good chance from an ideal berth in stall 4.
He is currently 16/1 with Bet365, but I’m expecting him to drift out to 20/1+, maybe even to 40/1, so please back him with a best odds guaranteed bookmaker.
He is still value at 12/1.
Little Peachey – 12.55 Hereford – 3m 1F Handicap Hurdle – 14/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way.
Jackie Du Plessis has her string in fine form with two winners from three runners in the last 14 days, with the other falling when in close contention two out.
She is represented here by Little Peachey, who has already been subject to some support for this race from 25/1 into 14/1 (annoyingly!!).
I’m not surprised as the mare has shown promise in modest maiden events and looks like this staying trip will be ideal for her.
She is very unexposed and coming from this small stable will have been brought along slowly and improvement is very much on the cards as she gets experience under her belt and race fitness.
Last year Little Peachey stayed on well over an inadequate 2m 4F trip on her first run in a handicap and after having a summer of strengthening up returned to action recently over an inadequate trip with a new hood and cheekpiece set up.
She faded, but this run will have been needed and I like they step up to this marathon trip with the same head gear in place which will help her settle but still focus her to run a competitive race.
She runs off a basement mark and with the stable in such good form the promise Little Peachey has shown could easily be built upon to victory.
I therefore recommend 1 point each way with Bet365 at 14/1 who go BOG. I think she may also drift so go with a BOG Bookmaker.
She is still value at 12/1.
