Hi,
Please see below my three tips for Friday:
Ladymorata – 7.15 Tramore – 2m 4F Handicap Hurdle – 25/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way -BOG.
I put up Ladymorata in October last year and she took the lead up only to fall at the second last when the race looked at her mercy. That was a bad fall, and she was not seen again until April this year.
She went off at only 8/1 on her seasonal reappearance over 2 miles and was only beaten 12 lengths. That day she wore a tongue tie, but all the headgear was removed for her next three runs where she went off at big prices and never threaten.
Today looks a different story, she is back over what I feel is her best trip of 2m 4F and the tongue tie/cheekpiece combination is utilised for only the second time in her career. The previous time was when she fell travelling like the winner in October.
At 25/1 Ladymorata is the right price to chance and I’m recommending 1 point each way with Bet365 – BOG.
She is still value at 14/1.
For more information, please see my previous write up below:
Ladymorata – 2.00 Clonmel 2m 4F Handicap Hurdle – 14/1 BetVictor – 4 places – 1 point each way
Ladymorata has been brought along slowly by connections. She is bred for 2.5 – 3m, so her initial runs in 2m novice hurdles were never going to bring the best out of her.
She stepped out into handicap company starting over 2 miles for one run last season and her comeback run after lockdown. Unsurprisingly she was settled in rear and never threaten.
She stepped up to 2m 4F for her last two runs and started to show a hint of form. She came with a run before flattening out too quickly and was subsequently ridden with a tongue tie last time out.
Again her rider seemed to give her an educational ride, probably just getting Ladymorata to trust her breathing as she was settled our rear and raced wide all the way over an inadequate 2m2.5F. The race was effectively over for her 2 furlongs out as her jockey allowed her to get 30 lengths behind, it was only when she had no chance that the jockey rode her out where she stayed on strongly into a never nearer 6th, only being beaten 13 lengths.
Today connections have stepped Ladymorata up to 2m 4F and applied a cheekpiece for the first time alongside her tongue tie and have the services of good 3lb claimer Barry Browne. This signifies to me they are looking for an improved performance today.
I therefore recommend her 14/1 with BetVictor – 1 point each way.
Dasmyhoss – 7.45 Tramore – 2m 5F Handicap Hurdle – 50/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way.
I’ve put up Dasmyhoss before, please see the write up in italics below.
He continues to slide down the handicap and is now rated just 81, when last year he was off 109.
Dasmyhoss must have some underlining issue which has caused this freefall and it could well be that his breathing has been the problem of late.
Connections have reached for the tongue tie to help and the return of his favourite jockey Darragh O’Keefe must also help. He hasn’t ridden Dasmyhoss for 10 rides and this familiar jockey, who has twice finished second on him ,postmarking 110 & 114, could well help Dasmyhoss perform today.
He is running just 5 days after his latest run and his record when turning out quickly is generally a positive sign of a better performance.
Dasmyhoss has won at Tramore’s sharp right handed track and the good ground is very much in his favour.
With connections changing things up and placing Dasmyhoss with conditions to suit we can be hopeful of a return to form. Ironically if he does bounce back to form, he could win this well.
At 50/1 with Bet365 we are getting the right price to chance Dasmyhoss, and I therefore recommend 1 point each way.
He is still value at 25/1
Dasmyhoss – 3.17 Downpatrick – 2m 3F Handicap Hurdle – 66/1 Boyles – 1 point each way.
The 8 year old Dasmyhoss is a winner of one hurdle and a National Hunt flat race.
He has been chasing for the past two season but hasn’t been as good over the bigger obstacles.
His handicap has been on the slide since the summer last year and he switched back to hurdles in October 2020 and running on winter ground hasn’t been ideal for him.
He took a mini break after Christmas and had a spin out on the flat before returning to hurdles at the start of March where his jumping wasn’t fluent enough. This was exaggerated by jumping out to his right.
His overall form suggests that he runs his best races on sounder surfaces and right handed undulating sharp tracks bring the best out of him, so it’s good news that he gets his ideal conditions today.
He has dropped to career low mark of 95 and has Hugh Morgan on board, a good 5lb claimer who nets his mark down to 90.
Dasmyhoss will need to bounce back to form, but will his ideal conditions I think he can, so at 66/1 with Boylesports and 5 places guaranteed I’m recommending 1 point each way.
Aunty Audrey – 6.45 Tramore – 2M Handicap Hurdle – 14/1 Skybet – 4 Places – 1 Point Each Way.
Aunty Audrey is a winner of 4 flat races and one handicap hurdle. She has been in good form on the flat this year with a cosy win three runs back and with two good recent flat runs backing her form up.
She now looks interesting going back over hurdles.
Aunty Audrey won round the sharp right handed Clonmel track over 2 miles off a mark of 97 and today she gets her conditions today off a mark of 95.
She has the services of top 7lb claimer Jack Foley and with the blinkers applied for the first time we can be sure connections are looking for a big run.
With the top ratings at the track I’m surprised Aunty Audrey can be backed at 14/1 with Skybet, who also offer 4 places in this 14 runner event.
I’m recommending 1 point each way.
She still looks value at 8/1.
