Hanbury Racing – 16 August 2021

Hi,

See my two tips for Monday:

Los Camachos – 2.40 Lingfield – 7F Handicap – 16/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way.

The 6 year old Los Camachos is a winner of four races between 6F and 1 mile including off a mark of 73.

All his wins have been on the all-weather with two at today’s Lingfield polytrack.

What’s quite unusual is that female apprentice jockeys have won on him three times and the majority of his placed efforts are a similar story.

Los Camachos only raced once last season, so it was no surprise to see him needing a few runs to get his fitness and wellbeing in order and his performances have certainly been improving.

I’m interested in Los Camachos today as he is back on the all weather at his most prolific Lingfield track. This coincides with Grace McEntee taking the ride off a career low mark of 60 and with her 5lb claimer allowance running off a net 55 really does give Los Camachos every chance.

At 16/1 with Bet365 Los Camachos looks good value in this 8 runner event ad I therefore recommend 1 point each way.

He is still value at 10/1.

Ruby Wonder – 4.35 Catterick – 5 F Handicap – 50/1 Bet365 – 1 point Each Way.

The 4 year old filly Ruby Wonder was originally trained by David O’Meara, and she looked promising in his 5F maidens showing speed  to lead to finish second twice, postmarking 67 & 68.

She was given what looked a fair opening mark of 71 and after coming back for her 3 year old season ran slightly below market expectations  (went off 5/2) finishing a 3 length 3rd.

This was followed by a mediocre performance before she then became difficult to load at the stalls which caused her to be withdrawn twice.

Connections decided to change stables, moving to Paul Midgley’s yard.

Ruby Wonder was given a wind operation before making her recent seasonal debut where she dwelt slightly leaving the stalls and was badly squeezed out and hampered. Her race was effectively over but she did run on well enough to show ability and will certainly come on for the run.

Today she makes her second start after the wind operation and runs off 57 over her preferred trip of 5F. Bearing in mind she has already run twice to 67 and 68 she does look well enough handicap to win this.

There is every chance she will come on for her first run and bearing in mind she normally lead or run prominently then I feel we can dismiss her latest slow start as a one off.

I’m really surprised Ruby Wonder sits as the 50/1 outsider with Bet365 and I therefore recommending 1 point each way.

She is still value at 16/1.
