Hi,
Please see below my two tips for Tuesday:
Sam Haze – 3.40 Exeter – 2M 3F Handicap Chase – 66/1 Coral, Boyles, Bet365 (100/1) BOG – 5 Places – 1 Point Each Way.
I put up Sam Haze last time, but he never travelled and was soon beaten.
Looking at the gelding, he looks a big unit and takes more after his sire, Black Sam Bellamy, rather than his pocket rocket mother. He has more chance of being a chaser than his smaller siblings, so it’s interesting to see him sent chasing so soon after qualifying for a handicap mark.
If he does take after his dad, then today’s softer ground will be more to his liking, and from such a lowly mark, we have to take another chance on him at odds of 66/1.
Please bet with a BOG Bookmaker as he may drift out again (and still win/place). He was 200/1 early Monday evening, but has been nibbled at big prices, and is now best priced 100/1 with Bet365, and is generally a 66/1 shot.
I recommend 1 point each way at 66/1 with Coral and Boyles, BOG, 5 places.
He is still value at 40/1.
Please read my previous write up below:
Sam Haze – 12.45 Hereford – 2m 4F Handicap Hurdle – 125/1 Bet365 Sky BetVictor – 4 Places – 1 Point Each Way.
The 8-year-old Sam Haze is very lightly raced with just 5 starts for Owner Trainer Philip Dando.
He showed some ability on his first start in a 2-mile National Hunt flat race postmarking 90.
But in his hurdle maidens, he didn’t show quite the same level, postmarking a high of 77, however, these runs weren’t devoid of promise under what looked like educational rides.
He had his first start in a handicap off a mark of 76 over 2 miles where he chased the early pace before fading late on. That was the first time he had been ridden with any level of prominence and probably paid for his exertions late on.
These were all good experiences for Sam Haze and today he steps up to a much more suitable 2m 4 furlongs and will enjoy the good/soft ground.
He has a lot to prove. But his Trainer bred the horse and has his full brother, Beau Haze, who was also a late-maturing horse who won last hear at Today’s Hereford track over this trip and ground. He won that off 84 and went on to win twice more and is now rated in the 90’s (runs later on this card).
Sam Haze runs off 79 so looks fairly weighted considering his NH flat run and his brothers’ achievements.
At 125/1 with Bet365 Sky and BetVictor, who offer 4 places, I’m recommending a 1 point each-way play.
He still looks value at 33/1.
Trac – 1.25 Newcastle – 2 Mile Handicap Hurdle – 20/1 Quinnbet, Bet365 (28/1), Boyles (22/1) – BOG -3 Places – 1 Point Each Way.
I put up Trac last time out, and frustratingly he led but tired in the home straight.
The 2m 4F trip may have stretched his stamina, so I like the move back to 2 miles today.
He’s been dropped 5lb and runs off 83, which makes him dangerously well handicapped.
I’m recommending 1 point each way at 20/1 with Quinnbet. But please take the 28/1 available with Bet365, or 22/1 with Boyles. They all go best odds guaranteed.
He is still value at 12/1.
For more information see my previous write up below:
Trac – 12.15 Sedgefield – 2m 4F Handicap Hurdle – 66/1 Bet365 Sky Betfred – 4 Places – 1 Point Each Way.
The 4-year-old Trac has a fair bit of hurdling experience for such a young horse was campaigned in France where he raced 13 times over hurdles and chases.
He ran to a fair level, postmarking a high of 106. That French postmark can usually be upgraded when running in the UK.
Micky Hammond now trains in the UK, and it very much looks like he has allowed Trac to enjoy his 6-month break earlier this year as his 3 runs to date haven’t been at his previous level, but his performances have been improving, suggesting fitness and wellbeing is now improving.
I like Trac today as he raced with cheekpieces in France for all but one of his races and this has been left off by UK connections.
However, it is reapplied today and now his mark has dropped to 88 he looks attractively handicapped.
I step forward in form looks likely and I’m surprised the market has him priced up at 66/1.
Micky Hammond won with a similar French type 2 months ago at a massive price, so I’m happy to suggest a 1 point each-way play with Bet365/Sky/Betfred who all offer 4 places.
Trac is still value at 20/1.
