Hi
See my three tips for Saturday:
Fastnet Crown – 3.40 Newmarket – Cambridgeshire – 1m 1F Handicap – 40/1 Paddy Power – 7 Places.
Fastnet Crown has a great profile for the Cambridgeshire as he is lightly raced with just 10 runs and has been called a slow leaner and lazy by his regular jockey Leigh Roche. He has been progressive this year at shorter trips and looks to have been laid out for big 1 mile handicap pot.
He has been campaigned quite unusually running over a mile for his maidens including a decisive handicap win off 75 when he had blinkers applied for the first time.
That was last season but this year he has dropped back in trip to win a uber competitive 17 runner 6F handicap at the Curragh off 83. He came from virtually last to first that day which shows he has gears, but it was also a good sign he did it running up the middle of the track as today he is drawn in the centre and will need a similar ride.
Fastnet Crown was eventually stepped back up to a mile in the Irish Cambridgeshire and he ran a cracking race to finish an unlikely third. He had a terrible high draw and ran 9 horses wide round the bend and was 3rd last coming into the home straight in this massive field before staying on strongly.
I think he will love the straight Newmarket track and whilst he still has to prove he stays 1m 1F, the way he ran on last time I think he will get the extra furlong.
At 40/1 with Paddy Power who offer 7 places he looks a lovely each way play, and I recommend 1 point each way.
He is still value at 20/1.
Ana Gold – 4.50 Newmarket – 7F Handicap – 25/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way.
Richard Fahey has won this 2 year old nursery handicap before and knows it takes a well handicapped horse to win it.
In Ana Gold he has a lightly races horse who has only run three times, which includes a win over 5F. That was a decent win considering she is bred to appreciate further.
Today she steps up to 7F for the first time and this is bound to bring out improvement in her.
She gets in her on a favourable looking mark of 75 and is nicely at the bottom of the handicap.
Ana Gold has been green and slowly away in her races to date and I like that Hollie Doyle takes over as she is excellent at getting horses well away from the stalls.
At 25/1 Ana Gold looks well over priced here and I recommend 1 point each way.
She still looks value at 12/1.
Bazooka – 5.00 Market Rasen – 2m 2.5F Handicap Hurdle – 22/1 Boylesports – 1 Point Each Way.
Max Young has made a promising start to his training career. He only has a small string of old cast off horses, many with injuries and has been gradually bringing them along to good health and fitness.
This very much sums up Bazooka who has been with Young for 4 runs and been getting each time.
He was a fair juvenile hurdler reaching a peak rating of 117 and ran in a Grade 2 hurdle, however he has regressed since then and today runs off just 88.
He showed his first bit of form for Max Young two starts back where he ran on for a close third off 94. That was over 2 miles with a 7lb amateur rider.
Today he runs over an ideal 2m 2.5F and has the services of James Best. This is a very positive jockey booking as Max Young used James for his first ever victory as a trainer.
We can back Bazooka at 22/1 with Boylesports who offer 4 places in this 13 runner event and that looks a good play.
He is still value at 12/1
