Hi,
Just the one for tomorrow:
Born To Please – 4.10 Nottingham – 1m 2F Handicap – 33/1 Bet 365 – 1 Point Each Way.
This is amateur riders race and I like the chances of Born To Please as she goes well for amateurs and inexperienced riders, winning all four of her races with claimers on board.
Born To Please is long in the market as she is coming off break of 128, but I don’t mind that as she has won off a break of 188 days.
Nottingham is definitely Born To Please’s favourite track with two wins and 2 places from just 5 runs.
With 4 wins and 6 places from just 18 runs with cut in the ground she will love today’s soft ground.
Today’s jockey, Violet Barton, is inexperienced with just 8 rides under rules, but she has won a race and placed a further 3 times (that’s a 50% place rate), so we must be hopeful she can deliver Born To Please to be competitive.
With so much in her favour it’s great that we can back her at 33/1 with Bet365 and I’m happy to take a chance so I recommend 1 point each way.
She is still value at 16/1.
Picturesque View – 1.00 Chepstow – 2m 4F Handicap Hurdle – 100/1 Skybet – 6 Places – 1 Point Each Way
This is a big early season handicap hurdle and pretty much anything can happen in a race of this nature. Unexposed, maturing horses can improve rapidly and leave there previous form behind and I’m that’s going to be the case with Picturesque View.
He is a young horse with few miles on the clock having just the three maid runs over two miles last year and has then made his seasonal debut and handicap debut recently at Stratford.
All his maiden runs were just for experience and but he did manage to postmark a high of 91, which is fair and shows he certainly has some ability.
I always feel you can forgive a horse his seasonal opener and know he will come on for the run.
I like David Bridgewater as a trainer and he gets his fair share of big price winners, so the fact he steps this unexposed sort up to 2m 4F for the first time when we know he will probably strip fitter for his last outing gives me hope he can show improved form.
He has the services of the promising 3lb claimer Michell Bastyan who has been firing in the winners over the last few months and his claim is a real 3lb bonus.
Picturesque View runs off a mark of 92 and with Mitchell’s claim that nets down to 89. He ran to 91 on his debut and is bound to rate higher than that over this more suitable trip with experience and fitness under his belt so we can give him a good chance tomorrow even though there are 18 runners.
The 100/1 available with Skybet who also offer 6 places is just to tempting and I recommend 1 point each way.
He is still value at 33/1.
