Hanbury Racing – 30 September 2021

Hi

Please see my three tips for Thursdays racing:

Red Evelyn – 3.55 Lingfield – 1 Mile Handicap – 33/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way.

Simon Pearce is a shrewd training outfit and is in good form at present.

He runs Red Evelyn here in just the sort of low grade race he excels at.

Red Evelyn is still lightly raced and managed a win over todays course and distance in a run of the mill novice race where she postmarked a fair 70.

She was given a handicap mark of 74 but wasn’t able to reproduce that form over subsequent 2 starts last year.

She came back for a late seasonal opener recently and ran a solid enough race over an inadequate 7F.

Red Evelyn should come on for that run and a return to a more suitable mile at her favourite track is very much in her favour.

With her running off 66 she has a fair chance to outrun the 33/1 we can get with Bet365, and I recommend 1 point each way.

She is still value at 20/1.

Physics – 8.00 Chelmsford – 6F Handicap – 50/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way.

Michael Attwater is a winter all-weather specialist, and he looks to have another young horse in Physics that has already proven to like polytrack with 2 wins from 6 starts.

He joined the yard two runs ago and I’m sure they are expecting him to rack up plenty more wins this winter.

Physics joined with a breathing issue and after two poor runs, they have given him a wind operation which will help get his winter season back on track.

He has shown a liking for running fresh, including a win, so the 100 days off is a positive in my eyes.

Attwater has a more fancied runner in the race, but he has 5lb claimer Rhys Clutterback on board Physics who he has used many times to victory.

Running off a nett 55 makes him look well handicapped as he has already won off 55 & 60.

The juicy odds of 50/1 make him look a great each way play.

He is still value at 20/1.

Hope Springs – 5.35 Lingfield – 5F Handicap – 50/1 Bet365 – 1 Point Each Way.

With just the three poor maiden runs to date Hope Springs heads into handicaps for the first time off the basement mark of 45 and at massive odds of 50/1 we have to take a chance of him now he is in his grade.

Hope Springs is your classic buzzy speedy green horse. She was drawn wide on all three starts and showed speed but was always being reined back by the jockey in an attempt to get her settled.

Twice over 6F where she burnt herself out.

However, on her second start over today’s course and distance, and first run of this season she showed me enough to suggest she has the speed and ability to win over the minimum trip. She was again draw widest and showed speed to be handy but was forced to race 8 horses wide round the bend and was pushed out even further by a horse that hung into her on the crest of the bend.

She was only beaten 8 lengths and that included her fading in the final furlong (probably due to fitness) and not being given a hard time. Postmarking 40 in the process.

Well today she only has to postmark around 50 to win this and from an inside draw over the 5F I feel she is very capable of the slight improvement necessary to be victorious at huge odds.

Jim Boyle uses jockey Charlie Bennett for some of his all weather winners, so this is very much a positive jockey booking and we have to get involved at 50/1 with Bet365 and I recommend 1 point each way.

She is still value at 20/1.
