Hi,
Please see my two tips for Monday:
Penny Pot Lane – 3.44 Redcar – 6F Handicap 10/1 Skybet – 6 Places – 1 Point Each Way.
Trainer Simon Whitaker has a strong record when getting his horses to repeat win the same race and today his Penny Pot Lane returns to Pontefract today off the same winning mark of 64 as last year with similar ground and almost the same draw.
Simon gave Penny Pot Lane a break in mid-summer and has given him the one recent pipe opener which I’m sure will have set him up nicely for today.
His chance is an obvious one and with Skybet offering 10/1 and paying six places he looks a straightforward each play.
He still looks value at 8/1.
Red Skye Delight – 6.30 Wolverhampton – 1m Handicap – 50/1 Boyles – 4 Places – BOG – 1 Point Each Way.
This is a Class 6 (0-52) handicap which is low grade fare, and this looks a weak race with most of the field out of form.
It’s the sort of race which gives Red Skye Delight a chance of a first success which is deserved after 4 seconds on the all-weather, including over course and distance. Those seconds have been off marks of 46 to 51.
Today she runs off the basement mark of 46 and the very capable apprentice Joanna Mason takes off another 3lb netting her mark down to 43 that could make all the difference.
She comes out of stall 2 which is ideal for her to gain good track position as she likes to race handy and stalk the leaders.
Red Skye Delight doesn’t look in good form, but this can be excused as her last three runs were all on turf and she much prefers all weather.
Furthermore Micky Hammond gave her a summer break and has given her two runs back. Well Red Skye Delight is a stiffy horse and always needs a couple 2 runs to regain her race fitness/sharpness, so we can expect a better run today.
We can back her at 50/1 with Boyles who offer 4 places and BOG and I recommend 1 point each way.
She is still value at 20/1.
