Wrath of Hector – 6.00 Wolverhampton – 7F Handicap – 33/1 Paddy Power, Betfair Sportsbook, William Hill – 1 Point Each Way.
Wrath of Hector is a previous course and distance winner.
In 2020 he rapidly improved with the application of blinkers going from 48 to 73 in the ratings with 4 wins over 6F and 7F.
The improvement flattened out the effectiveness of the blinkers seemed to have worn off.
He had the summer off and returned to action recently over 1 mile where he led and faded, but that’s no surprise as he has never stayed the 1 mile trip.
Its interesting that connections have applied a visor for the first time which coincides with a drop back to his winning trip of 7F.
He runs off a mark of 69 and is only 1lb higher than his last winning mark.
His regular winning pilot Theodore Ladd is in the plate and from an Ok draw in stall 7 he should be able to take a prominent position.
He should come on for that seasonal debut run and connections look to mean business with the blinkers, at 33/1 he looks over priced and I recommend 1 point each way.
He is still value at 20/1.
