Le Hatchette – 5.25 Ballinrobe – 2m 5F Handicap Hurdle – 40/1 William Hill – 1 Point Each Way.
Ballinrobe is a tight right handed track that really suits front runners and is a real specialist track.
The 8 year old Le Hatchette is one of those horses that loves it round here with two wins and three seconds from just 7 starts.
Invariably Le Hatchette has run average at other tracks, but then returned to Ballinrobe and steps up her form. She will need to do the same today as whilst she has progressed with each of her three runs this season her best finish is only 9th.
I dont think Le Hatchette has been ridden to her best effect the last twice as she is a front runner and didn’t get ridden that way. This makes me think connections have been happy to get her fit with a view to a return to Ballinrobe off a reduced mark. Her handicap has dropped this year from 104 to 95.
Le Hatchette has won off marks ranging from 80 to 102 and today she races off a competitive 95 and must have a great chance of victory on ground that will be ideal.
At 40/1 with William Hill she is hugely overpriced, and I recommend 1 point each way.
I feel she is still value at 20/1.
