Hanbury Racing Tips – 3rd August 2021

Hi

Please see below my three tips for Tuesday:

Greenway Machine – 7.10 Roscommon – 3M Handicap Chase – 20/1 Boyles -1 point each way.

I put up Greenway Machine last time out when he ran over 2m 4F and was incredibly unlucky not to win or place as he was travelling strongly behind the leaders 2F out only to get hampered and stumble losing all chance. To his credit he stayed on to grab 4th and he is very much on a winning mark.

Greenway was also unlucky two runs ago where he led and looked sure to win only to fall at the last.

He has been dropped 1lb for his last good run and steps up to 3 miles today and considering he won a 3m point to point the trip should suit.

I’m really surprised he has opened up at 20/1 as I thought he would be a single figure price after his highly promising run last time out, he deserves a change of luck, and a win looks very much on the cards.

He therefore looks superb value and I therefore recommend 1 point each way at 20/1 with Boylesports who offer 5 places and best odds guaranteed.

He is still value at 8/1.

Rhubarb Bikini – 2.00 Chelmsford – 1 Mile Handicap – 14/1 Boyles – BOG – 1 point each way.

Chelmsford is an all-weather polytrack surface and whilst its turns are quite sharp it does have a long galloping straight and is a nice flat track. It certainly seems to attract more than it’s fair share of course specialists and Rhubarb Bikini is certainly on of those with course form of 2124.

His form at other tracks is very patchy. But whenever he comes back to Chelmsford, he always runs his race.

He was last here back in April, where he was nicely backed from massive prices and ran well off 83 to finish a close second. He has run 3 bad races since but returns back to Chelmsford over his best trip of a mile and so gets in here off a handy 7lb lower mark of 75.

His last three postmarks in handicaps at the track have been 86, 86 and 87. If he replicates any of those performances, he should win this, or worst case place.

At 14/1 he looks a fair each way play, and I recommend 1 point each way with Boylesports who offer 3 places and best odds guaranteed.

Rockesbury – 3.10 Chelmsford – 6F Handicap – 14/1 Bet365 – 1 point each way.

Rockesbury is another Chelmsford specialist with 3 wins from just 6 starts.

He has only run once at Chelmsford this season, which was his seasonal pipe-opener, and he generally needs a few runs under his belt to hit winning form. So he did well under the circumstances to only lose by 1.5 lengths off a mark of 55.

He has been in form this season winning at Yarmouth four runs ago, but the next two starts were below par. That wasn’t a complete surprise as Rockesbury ran on consecutive days, winning on the second start, so the trainer probably eased off his work at home to allow him some rest.

His latest run was a step in the right direction and with his form returning and him heading back to his favourite Chelmsford track off a mark of 56, (which is just 1lb higher than his previous winning mark) he must have a good chance.

We can get 14/1 on Rockesbury which allows us to make an each way play and I therefore recommend a 1 point win.

He is still value at 10/1.
